Air Canada has dropped the price of their non-stop flights from Vancouver to Beijing, China down to $399 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
These are the cheapest ever flights from Vancouver to Beijing, except for a mistake fare on Air China in 2013 ($388 CAD roundtrip)
Availability for travel
2017:
- late September to first half of October
- late October
- November
- first half of December (can return as late as December 14th, not past that).
2018:
- mid February to the end of February
- late March to mid-April
- first half of April
How to find and book these flights
1. Go to the Air Canada website
2. Search for a flight from Vancouver to Beijing, China (PEK)
3. Try dates in late October, or November, or the first half of December. Or in 2018, try the first half of April

Update 7/23 - Air China is showing a few non-stop flights from Vancouver to Beijing, China for $399 CAD roundtrip including taxes
1. Go to Skyscanner
2. Search for a flight from Vancouver to Beijing, China (PEK)
3. Try one of the following date combinations:
Sep 17, 20, 24 to Oct 9, 10, 11, 12 -- over Thanksgiving
Sep 17, 20, 24 to Oct 16, 17, 18, 19 -- over Thanksgiving
Update 7/26 - Air China is apparently going to offer some non-stop flights from Vancouver to Beijing, China for $449 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
According to the following promo page...
There will be $449 roundtrip fares available from July 27 to July 28.
Which means they might load these fares tonight (Wed, July 26) around midnight.
Allegedly there will be $449 fares for travel in late August, September, and October.
Update: These fares have been loaded. The number of available dates looks pretty weak.
Here are the dates that are currently available:
1. Go to the Air China promo page
2. Scroll down to the very bottom
3. Search for a flight from Vancouver to Beijing, China (PEK)
Try one of the following date combinations:
Sep 24, 27, 29 to Oct 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
The above dates are about the only realistic dates for a normal vacation length. You can also try longer trips, as long as you return on October 6, 7, 9, 10, 11,12 13
example:
Aug 23 to Oct 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
Sep 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 15, 17, 20, 22 to Oct 6, 7, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13
NOTE: October 1 to October 8 is 'Golden Week' in China. Train tickets can be hard to come by, and accommodations are more expensive.

Update 7/29 - The Air Canada website is once again showing cheap non-stop flights from Vancouver to Beijing, China (although this time they are $438 CAD roundtrip including taxes)

2. Search for a flight from Vancouver to Beijing, China (PEK)
3. Try dates around...
2017:
- the first half of October
- late October to the first half of November
- the first half of November
- the second half of November
- the first half of December (can return as late as December 13th, not past that).
Many other date ranges throughout 2017 and 2018 are priced at $521 CAD roundtrip.
