There are some insane open jaw flight prices out there, where you fly from Vancouver to Vietnam and then fly home from Manila, Philippines to Vancouver - all for just $460 CAD including taxes.
Getting from one country to the other
It typically costs around $130 CAD (or less) to fly from Vietnam to the Philippines.
Tip: For flights from Vietnam to the Philippines, have a look at Cebu Pacific Air. They don't show up on many travel search engines, but have non-stop flights for around $96 to $123 USD.
If you change it to 'United States of America English' in the top right corner before you search, the prices will be in $USD, instead of the Philippine peso.

Click on the departure date box to try other dates.
Focus on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu dates in the months listed above to see what's available.
2. Click through from Google Flights to the United website.

You may also be able to find these for slightly cheaper by searching on Momondo.ca - And if you can't seem to book them from Google Flights (some dates work, some don't), it's also worth trying from Momondo.
Click on 'Trip Type' and change it to 'Multiple Destinations'
Search for a flight like this:
Vancouver (YVR) to Ho Chi Minh City (SGN)
Manila, Philippines (MNL) to Vancouver (YVR)
You can also throw Japan into the mix for another $46
If you're really ambitious, you can find some amazing deals where you fly from Vancouver to Tokyo, Japan (spend time there) and then fly to Vietnam (spend time there), and then fly back home from the Philippines, all for the incredible price of just $506 CAD including taxes.
To find this kind of a deal, try starting with a Google Flights search like this one:

Play around with the dates, focusing on the same months as listed above.
Focus on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu dates to see what comes up.

If it's not, you can try searching on Momondo.ca
