How cheap will this flight to Calgary get? A Dutch auction experiment
24
July
Charter airline GoJumpOn is doing something novel by offering a Dutch auction on a one-way Vancouver to Calgary flight.
Basically, it works like this...
GoJumpOn has 149 seats to fill on a one-way flight from Vancouver to Calgary, that departs Friday August 30 @ 12:30 PM
Between now and midnight, the price will drop every hour, as per the following schedule:
As you can see, by 11 PM MST (10 PM PST) tonight, the flight price will theoretically have dropped to a pretty ridiculous price of just $79.00 after taxes
I say theoretically, because that will only happen if GoJumpOn hasn't sold out all of their seats. And that's the risk of playing the waiting game in a Dutch auction.
For a full list of details, and to book the flight, you can head to the following link:

Kudos to GoJumpOn (once again) for trying something fresh and interesting in the world of Canadian airfares. I think they'd be the first to admit they don't know what the outcome of this experiment will be.

Update: Westjet looks to have just matched the Air Canada sale. Today looks to be an amazing day for inter-Canada travel prices.
Westjet doesn't seem to have an official page up yet about their sale, they're probably scrambling to get their prices changed to match Air Canada.
