Air Canada has dropped the price of their flights from Vancouver to Istanbul, Turkey down to $766 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have one stop each way, in Toronto.
Availability for travel
January to May 2016.
How to find and book this deal
1. Go to Air Canada's website.
2. Click on the 'Flights' selection bubble.
3. Search for a flight from Vancouver to Istanbul, Turkey.
Example dates to try:

April 3, 5, or 7 to April 18 or 20
April 17 or 19 to May 1, 2, or 4
April 24, 26, or 28 to May 8, 9 or 11
May 1 or 3 to May 15 or 18
I would recommending selecting the 'flexible dates' option when you search.
There are also dates in January, February, and March - but April/May would be the better choice for Turkey in terms of weather.
There are also dates in June in the low $800s.

Judging by the number of e-mails, Tweets, and Facebook messages I received, I think it's safe to say there will be thousands more Canadians than usual visiting Turkey later this year and in the spring of 2013.

I've been waiting a long time for this! Turkey has always been near the top of my list of places on this planet that I want to check out (and it's a long list). Fares are *never* cheap though, and usually hover around a minimum of $1300-$1400 roundtrip after taxes.
