United Airlines has dropped the price of their flights from Seattle to Papeete, Tahiti down to $715 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way in San Francisco.
Carry-on and a checked bag are included.
Worth the drive?
For comparison, the cheapest flights from Vancouver to Tahiti throughout 2024/2025 are currently $1610 CAD roundtrip.
Should I stay in Papeete? Are accommodations reasonable in Tahiti?
Papeete is on Tahiti Island, which contains the airport everyone uses to get to Tahiti. Papeete is just the busy capital and Tahiti Island itself is not generally what people are picturing when they think of Tahiti.
What you want to do is hop on a ferry over to Mo'orea Island. Mo'orea is about 30 minutes away, and drop dead gorgeous.
You can usually find somewhere reasonably priced to stay on Mo'orea. On Airbnb you can find highly rated places in the high $100s to low $200s CAD per night. Here's a search you can start with.
