The Star Alliance has dropped the price of their their off-season flights from Vancouver to various cities in France down to between $556 and $634 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights are with Air Canada and Lufthansa, with 1 stop in Montreal, Chicago, or Frankfurt each way.
Most notable are the price drops to places like Toulouse, Lyon, Nice, and Marseille, which haven't seen great fares in many years.
Paris is a little less notable as you can usually find nonstop flights in the $700s and $800s roundtrip (and WestJet currently has 1 stop flights for $594 CAD roundtrip).
You can also find flights to Amsterdam in the low $600s roundtrip. KLM has dropped the price of their nonstop flights down to $625 CAD roundtrip. You can also find these from Victoria (1 stop) for $705 roundtrip.
Vancouver to Lisbon or Porto, Portugal is available for $759-$787 CAD roundtrip with Air Canada. And so is Rome, Italy. And Barcelona, Spain.
Air France has dropped the price of their nonstop flights from Vancouver to Paris down to $590 CAD roundtrip.
You could also purchase an additional roundtrip flight from a major hub city like Paris or Amsterdam and fly to somewhere warmer in the Mediterranean and still keep the price for both flights under $775 CAD roundtrip (see below).
