Vancouver to Auckland, New Zealand or Sydney, Australia - $1006 to $1100s roundtrip including taxes [Nonstop Flights]

Air Canada has dropped the price of some of their November 2023 and February, March 2024 flights from Vancouver to Auckland, New Zealand down into the low $1000s and $1100s CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights are nonstop both ways.
It does give me some hope that maybe, just maybe, we'll see a sub-$1000 CAD roundtrip nonstop flight to New Zealand again one day, like we occasionally did before the pandemic.
UPDATE - New Zealand dates are gone, but there are now a few flights from Vancouver to Brisbane, Australia available in March with Air Canada for $1171 CAD roundtrip.
