American Airlines has dropped the price of their flights from Vancouver to New York City, Phoenix, Dallas, Houston, and Denver down to around $229 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights from Vancouver to Phoenix and Dallas are non-stop flights.
The flights to Houston, New York City, and Denver have 1 stop each way.
Update Mar 6 @ 9 AM PST - New York appears to be sold out.

How to find and book this deal
1. Try a Google Flights search like this one...
Google Flights: Vancouver to New York City (EWR)
^^ July, August, early September
Google Flights: Vancouver to Phoenix (PHX)
^^ non-stop flights, a few dates in June, July
Google Flights: Vancouver to Dallas (DFW)
^^ non-stop flights
Google Flights: Vancouver to Houston (HOU)
Google Flights: Vancouver to Denver (DEN)
2. Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view and browse for cheap date combinations
- look for the dates that are $220 to $230 roundtrip.
NOTE: a lot of these are proving to be difficult to actually book through Google Flights.
What you can try is...
3. Go to Priceline
- Search for a flight from Vancouver (YVR) to the U.S. city you are interested in.
- Use the same dates you found on Google Flights.
4. On Priceline, the price will show up as $168 USD roundtrip including taxes. Priceline is *always* in $USD.
This will work out to $221 CAD when booked using a Canadian credit card, and including the typical credit card foreign exchange fee.
If you use a credit card that does not charge foreign exchange fees, it will be even cheaper.
