China Eastern has dropped the price of a couple of their flights from Vancouver to Niigata, Japan down to $585 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have a 3.5 hour layover in Shanghai on the way there, and a 7 hour layover on the way home.
The Niigata prefecture is not nearly as famous as places like Tokyo, Kyoto, or Osaka. It's a hidden gem that has a lot to offer (great food, excellent sake, a lot of onsens, and more).
