Vancouver to St. John's, Newfoundland - $333 (CB) to $407 CAD roundtrip including taxes

Air Canada has dropped the price of their flights from Vancouver to St. John's, Newfoundland down to between $333 and $407 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way in Halifax or Toronto.
Vice-versa flights (St. John's to Vancouver) are also available for a similar roundtrip price.
You can also find flights from Victoria for a similar roundtrip price.
You can also find flights from Vancouver to Moncton or Saint John, New Brunswick for $40-$60 more roundtrip. Flights to Gander, Newfoundland are $88 more.
I consider $333 roundtrip to be Air Canada's clickbait (CB) price because it doesn't include checked luggage or carry-on. Not exactly a realistic way to travel.
$407 roundtrip is the more realistic price because at least it includes checked luggage.
But those with certain Aeroplan credit cards can take advantage of the clickbait price as they include free checked luggage.

How to find and book this deal
1. Start with the following Google Flights search:
Google Flights: Vancouver to St. John's, Newfoundland
Google Flights: Victoria to St. John's, Newfoundland
- Click on the departure date box to open up the calendar view.
- Explore for the cheapest dates by adjusting the trip length at the bottom.
- Look for the dates that are $333 roundtrip.
2. At this point, there are a few different ways you can book these flights...
For $333 roundtrip. This includes *only* a personal item (something that can fit under the seat in front of you).
- Those with certain Aeroplan credit cards can still bring free checked bags for themselves (and those travelling with them) and may find this fare useful. Remember to link your Aeroplan number to your reservation.
- To book this price go to Skyscanner or Kayak
- Try the same dates you found on Google Flights.
*OR*
For $407 roundtrip. This includes a personal item and a checked bag. But not carry-on.
- To book this price click through from Google Flights to the Air Canada website using the 'Basic' fare. And then add a checked bag for $74 roundtrip.
- Note that you do not actually pay for the $74 checked bag at the time of booking. You need to do that later by going to the Air Canada website or app and going to 'My Trips' and entering your details.
