Fiji Airways is showing flights from Vancouver to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji for between $535 and $595 CAD roundtrip including taxes.
The flights have 1 stop each way, in Nadi, Fiji.
It's not clear if these are a mistake fare or just Fiji Airways way of saying 'hello' to Vancouver (new route to Fiji), but they are available on nearly every booking site, and on the Fiji Airways website.
Update: It does look like it's intentional, and the prices are related to their amazing introductory prices on their non-stop flights from Vancouver to Nadi, Fiji (NAN) for $599 CAD roundtrip. (Shown right on their homepage)
You can also try a Multi-City flight, and spend time in both Fiji and Australia, for $655 CAD roundtrip.
You can also find non-stop flights from Vancouver to Nadi, Fiji (NAN) for between $599 and $740 CAD roundtrip.
And flights from Vancouver to other places in Australia such as Melbourne (MEL) or Brisbane (BNE) for a similar price.
And flights from Vancouver to places in New Zealand.
Basically, if it's on the Fiji Airways route map it's worth trying (Update: I've tried them all).

Try Friday to Friday dates in the months listed above. Monday dates also seem to be cheap.
2:40 PM PST: It looks like we might be at the end of dates in the $500s roundtrip. Still seeing some dates in the $700s, which really, is still an amazing price.

Or your next best bet would be to click through to Expedia, FlightHub, or CheapoAir. Other booking sites can be too slow to issue tickets in a situation like this, leading to disappointment later on.

Today, the prices in the $500s roundtrip are all gone, but there are still some great prices on Fiji Airways
It's funny how a recent insane price anchors things in your mind. "$899 roundtrip to New Zealand? So expensive compared to yesterday!" But really, had the prices in the $500s not come out, $899 would still be considered an amazing price relative to what's been available in the last few years.
Air Canada and Air New Zealand's nonstop flights from YVR-AKL have been a minimum of $1800+ for a long time.
The cheapest 1 stop flights haven't been much cheaper.
Just like yesterday, you can get creative with Multi-City flights and have an extended stay in Nadi, Fiji on your way to Australia or New Zealand.
Or fly into one city and home from another.

Looks like Fiji Airways have corrected it on their site now, but the prices are still available through third party sites. Is it safe to book that way, or could Fiji Airways change the price after booking?
It's for real Chris, I have dabbled on their website and they have 599 tickets for $599 and with further investigation I've come up with a return flight to Melbourne from YVR with stop overs in Fiji for $595.96. Remarkable deal!
Yes, it definitely looks intentional and the prices are all related to today's Fiji Airways announcement of their new route from YVR to Nadi, Fiji (NAN). It's right on their homepage.
The first amazing deal from Vancouver to Australia since March of 2020. And this is even cheaper than most of the crazy deals in 2018 and 2019 ($700s-$800s roundtrip).
And the first amazing deal to Fiji, ever.

no luck at this time on expedia, kayak or fijis site with yvr to BNE deals under $1100 for dates in Feb and April staying for 4 weeks

Booked my flight for $840 because I picked seats and coverage packages! still a great deal because tickets now are like $2,000 everywhere.
I waited too long and booked a multi-trip for $850 but still a good price!!

I had difficulty navigating on line and finally called Fiji world wide toll free number; on hold for over an hour and then when connection imminent, with busy notices and then reconnections (on Fiji Airlines tel system), then finally I was disconnected. Tried again 3 times and then outgoing messages that the toll free number is not accessible (I am in Vancouver). Finally, fiddling with the Fiji Air website things started looking up but not at the $500 price point. By the way, Fiji Air advises only 599 flights available at the $599 price ...
We booked May 1 to June 2, 2023 to Auckland and Fiji and $959 per person Canadian and the comparative prices online were in the vicinity of $2,500 Canadian range per person, SO NO REGRETS.
We should have been able to get the killer price but unfortunately not but again NO REGRETS.
Anyone else book on Fiji airways website and no date of birth info required?? The website was very buggy, probably because of the amount of people trying to book. But I’ve never experienced no date of birth required and just first and last name. I received confirmation email and everything. Chris any thoughts on this?

I got on this ASAP when I saw the email from Chris but we needed very specific dates (spring break) and the website kept crashing! Despite that, still managed to get 6 days in Sydney and 7 days in Fiji for $1100 per person. I could see other seats / options available but lots of "only 1 seat left at this price" type messages. Even so, $1100 is a complete bargain IMO! Thank you Chris!
