Singapore Airlines to operate from YVR again, for the first time in 12 years

Singapore Airlines is going to be flying between Vancouver and Singapore for the first time in 12 years, starting this December.
The seasonal route will operate 4 times a week between December 2, 2021 and February 15, 2022 on a 253-seat Airbus A350-900.
Half of the flights (2 times per week) will be known as 'Vaccinated Travel Lane' (VTL) flights. These are flights that will be allowing travellers, including Canadians, to visit Singapore without quarantine on arrival.
The other half of the flights will be for travellers that are just connecting through Singapore to other places.
So if you're planning to visit Singapore without quarantine you'll want to book the correct flights (VTL flights).
The Singapore Airlines website clearly identifies the VTL flights.
The flights are currently priced at $1070 CAD roundtrip including taxes. (17 hours of nonstop flight time on the way there, and 14 on the way home).
VTL Flights
In order to enter Singapore, a Canadian needs to:
- have proof of full vaccination
- have a negative PCR test result from within 48 hours of departure of the first leg of the journey, *and* the test must be from an approved provider.
The list of approved test providers can be found on the Singapore Ministry of Health website. But Canadian providers are not yet listed.
- apply for a vaccinated travel pass (VTP) which involves uploading proof of vaccination and pre-paying for the on-arrival test.
- travellers will need to self-isolate on arrival for up to 24 hours while awaiting the result of their on-arrival test.
- unvaccinated children aged 12 and below will also be allowed to enter Singapore under the VTL scheme (they must be accompanied by another traveller on the scheme).
